그렇습니다. 굶어 죽고 말고 하나님의 말씀만 믿고 살아야 하는데…. 나이를 먹어 생산의 능력이 있든지 없든지 하나님의 말씀만 믿고 살아야 하는데 실수를 했습니다.

Yes, Abraham should have trusted God’s word, whether he faced famine or whether he and Sarah were beyond childbearing years. But he made mistakes—just as we often do in our faith.

이것이 우리 보통사람들의 신앙의 모습입니다. 그런데 아브라함에게는 다른 것이 하나 있었습니다. 그것이 신앙의 용기입니다.

Yet, Abraham had one key difference—he had the courage of faith. He was different from others in this way.

그렇습니다. 말씀 따라 믿고 산다고 하지만 우리는 가끔 삶이 힘들어 지치고 쓰러질 때가 있습니다.

We say we live by God’s word, but sometimes life becomes difficult, and we grow weary and fall.

그리고 내 나름대로 판단합니다. 하고 싶으면 하고 하기 싫으면 안 합니다. 내 생각대로 그저 쉽게 행동합니다.

Then, we judge situations by our own reasoning. We follow our own desires, acting only when we feel like it.

아브라함이 그랬습니다. 때로는 휘청거리며 고달파 하며 자기 생각대로 인생을 살았습니다.

Abraham was no different—at times, he wavered and lived by his own judgment.

그러나 다른 게 있었습니다. 그것은 때를 따라 하나님의 말씀을 붙잡고 일어서는 신앙의 용기가 있었습니다.

But what set him apart was this: whenever God spoke, he clung to God’s word and stood up again.

하나님께서 말씀하실 때마다 실패한 과거를 딛고 다시 일어서는 신앙의 용기가 있었습니다.

Even after past failures, Abraham had the courage of faith to rise again.

“아브라함이 여호와를 믿으니 하나님이 이를 의로 여기시고”

“Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.”

그렇습니다. 하나님은 우리에게 복 주시기를 기뻐하십니다.

Yes, God delights in blessing us.

그래서 과거를 묻지 않습니다. 아브라함처럼 새롭게 앞으로 하나님을 바라보며 전진하는 신앙의 용기가 있으면 그것을 보시고 기적으로 그에게 복을 더하십니다.

He does not dwell on our past failures. If we, like Abraham, fix our eyes on God and move forward with the courage of faith, God will see that faith—and in response, He will bless us miraculously.

소가 도살장에 들어갈 때 유난히 부들부들 떠는 소가 있다는 것입니다. 그렇게 겁을 먹고 부들부들 떨면 검은 보자기를 탁 씌운대요.

There is a story about certain cattle that tremble uncontrollably when entering the slaughterhouse. When a cow shakes with fear like that, they cover its head with a black cloth.

그리고 그 소는 잡아서 동물사료로 사용한다고 합니다. 그 고기는 사람이 먹으면 안된다고 합니다. 부들부들 떨 때 몸에서 독이 나와서 사람이 먹으면 안 되고 개돼지 사료로 쓴다고 합니다.

These cows are then processed into animal feed instead of being used for human consumption. It is said that when they tremble in fear, toxins are released in their bodies, making their meat unsuitable for people. Instead, it is fed to pigs and dogs.

그렇습니다. 예수 믿고 사는 성도가 하나님의 사랑과 은혜를 모르고 믿음이 없어서 세상을 두려워하면 안 됩니다.

Likewise, as believers in Christ, we must not live in fear of the world due to a lack of faith and ignorance of God’s love and grace.
