그럼, 어떻게 해서 아브라함이 복의 근원이 됐습니까?
So, how did Abraham become a source of blessing?
- 하나님의 말씀을 100% 믿었습니다. He believed in God’s Word 100%.
어느 날 하나님께서 아브라함을 부르셨습니다. 그리고 ‘너는 너의 고향과 친척과 아버지의 집을 떠나 내가 네게 보여줄 땅으로 가라.’말씀해 주셨습니다.
One day, God called Abraham and said, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.”
아브라함은 그곳이 어떤 곳인지, 하나님이 보여 줄 땅이 어떤 땅인지 모릅니다. 그런데 아브라함은 하나님 말씀이니까 100% 믿고 짐을 꾸려서 식구들 데리고 떠났습니다. 대단하지 않습니까?
Abraham had no idea what kind of place it was or what the land God would show him looked like. Yet, because it was God’s word, he believed it 100%, packed his belongings, took his family, and left. Isn’t that amazing?
이민 와서 살고 있는 우리들도 보통사람들이 아니지요. 우리도 아브라함처럼 이민자로 하나님의 섭리가 있어서 이곳에 온 줄로 믿습니다.
We, too, as immigrants living in this land, are not ordinary people. Just like Abraham, we believe that God’s providence has brought us here.
드디어 아브라함이 가나안 땅에 도착했습니다. 그리고 그때 아브라함의 나이가 75세였지만 자신의 기업을 이을 자식이 없었습니다.
Finally, Abraham arrived in the land of Canaan. At that time, he was 75 years old, yet he had no children to inherit his legacy.
그런데 하나님께서 “내가 이 땅을 네 자손에게 주리라.”믿을 수 있겠습니까? 그런데 아브라함은 그 하나님의 말씀을 믿었습니다.
However, God said to him, “For to your descendants I will give all these lands.” Could you believe this? Abraham did.
그렇습니다. 현재의 상황으로 보면 땅이나 자손이나 그 무엇 하나 분명한 것 없지만 하나님의 말씀이니까 불가능한 것도 얼마든지 가능할 수 있다고 100% 믿었습니다.
Yes, from a human perspective, he had no land, no children—nothing seemed certain. Yet, because it was God’s word, he believed that even the impossible could become possible.
하나님이 약속하신 말씀은 모든 것이 그대로 다 된다 그렇게 믿었습니다. 그래서 아브라함은 언제나 하나님의 말씀을 앞세웠습니다.
He had absolute faith that everything God promised would come to pass. That’s why Abraham always put God’s word first.
되는대로 막연하게 이 세상을 살아간 것이 아니라 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 그 말씀이 하라는 대로 믿음으로 행했습니다.
He did not wander through life aimlessly but listened to God’s word and acted in faith according to His instructions.
그렇습니다. 새해에는 하나님의 말씀을 들어야 합니다. 하나님의 말씀을 들을 때에 우리의 신앙과 믿음이 자라나는 것입니다.
Indeed, in this new year, we must listen to God’s word. Our faith grows when we hear the word of God.
신앙이라는 것이 우연히 생겨나는 것 아닙니다. 믿음이 저절로 생겨나는 것이 아니라 하나님의 말씀을 들을 때에 생겨난다고 바울은 얘기했습니다.
Faith does not arise by chance, nor does it form on its own. As Paul said, faith comes by hearing the word of God.
그렇습니다. 하나님의 말씀을 읽고 듣고 행할 때에 생겨나고 자라나고 능력이 있게 되는 것입니다.
Yes, when we read, listen to, and obey God’s word, our faith grows, and we receive power.
그렇습니다. 아브라함이 믿음의 조상이 되고 물질의 축복을 받아 부자가 되고 축복의 근원이 될 수 있었던 것은 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 100% 그대로 믿었기 때문입니다.
Abraham became the father of faith, was blessed with wealth, and became a source of blessing because he listened to God’s word and believed it 100%.
그래서 히브리서 기자는 ‘갈 바를 알지 못했지만 아브라함은 하나님의 말씀에 순종해서 갔다’
That is why the writer of Hebrews says, “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.”
하나님이 지시하는 대로 갔습니다. 하나님의 말씀대로 순종하며 살았습니다. 계산하지 않았습니다. 따지지 않았습니다. 하나님의 말씀이니까 그 말씀대로 100% 믿고 살았을 때 복의 근원이 됐습니다.
He went as God directed. He lived in obedience to God’s word. He did not calculate or question. Because it was God’s word, he believed it 100% and lived accordingly—and in doing so, he became the source of blessing.
